    At 19 - 21 Tilton Street, the totes remain on the sidewalk 24/7. A full day after trash and recycle pick-up, the totes remain, as they will for. Ever. Every house on this small street has put away their totes except this house.

    We call on the city to issue a fine so that our little street will look as good as it can (minus street repairs).

    To the Parks Department for meticulously cleaning the litter at this park yesterday. It looked beautiful -- for a day. Some people partied hard at a picnic bench yesterday and left their mess. Although fair to say the trash bins were full.

    Can we copy some of East Rock Park's colorfully painted trash bins, exhorting people to "Pitch in" and "Keep Our Park Clean and Green?" How about some signage AT the picnic spots along the lines of "It's your park, help keep it clean." Also at the basketball court.

    Isn't it worth a try to appeal to the better nature of most people?

    A New Haven Traffic and Parking employee, sitting in his city-owned automobile in front of my house casually threw a food wrapper out his open window onto the street. When I told him that he had dropped something, he opened the door, picked it up, and took off.

    Seriously? City workers with no respect for the city streets? What is wrong with people?!

    After a lovely meal at Barcelona on Friday evening, we pulled out of our parking spot here to go to the theater at Long Wharf. Backing up, my husband tapped the car behind him and turned to leave. Two New Haven police officers walking by stopped him and asked if he was going to check on the "damage" he caused to the other vehicle.

    He got out of the car (he's white so he wasn't afraid he'd be shot) to see about the "damage," of which there was zero.

    One of the punk cops told him he could have been arrested for leaving the scene of an accident. Knowing that any other response other than acquiescence could mean an evening ruined, my husband apologized.

    The offending officer walked away, muttering, "Be careful, dude."

    W.T.F? Have the police no better thing to worry about than bumpers touching? Bumpers were MADE for touching; hence, the term BUMPer.

    I only wish I could have given that testosterone-driven piece of crap cop a piece of my mind.

    The sign indicating Tilton Street is on the left side of Mansfield, unlike Compton and Woodland before it. It is difficult if not impossible to see. It's also really dirty and old. Can you please post a new sign or even the old sign on the utility pole across the street? Thanks.
